Spring Hair Trends for 2017

Spring has sprung, and Outre’s girl gang has got the top 3 hair trends for Spring 2017 on lock: The Blunt Cut Bob, Ultra Long Hair and Half-Up/Half-Down.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we wanted to recognize and acknowledge the past generation of women who have paved the way for the advancement of women’s rights, the present generation of women who are continuing to make their voices heard, and the future women who will persist in ensuring equal rights for all while changing the very notion of what it means to be a woman.

Our latest video, “Pretty Tough”, is an expression of shattering preconceptions about what women are allowed to be, and how they are supposed to express and present themselves “as women.” Tracey, Halle and Andrea are the ultimate girl gang, who relish in their beauty rituals before hitting the streets of NYC to link up with each other, and get ready for action. While women are usually taught to be demure, pretty, and silent, the commanding presence of these three, as they stomp and strut down the street, works in conjunction with their drop dead gorgeous looks to create an expression all their own. They do not have to choose whether to be pretty or tough, they are letting you know that they are both.

Learn how to recreate their looks below!

The Blunt Cut Bob

This style staple is perfect for those who are looking less hair, but don’t want to do the big chop. The bob is a versatile and playful hairstyle that doesn’t require much effort to achieve or maintain. Here, we’ve gone for a sharp, bold, and sleek bob that is sure to turn heads and break a few hearts this spring. Tracey is getting ready to leave them on “read” in the Velvet Brazilian Yaki (Color: T1B/BU) + Velvet Brazilian Yaki Lace Parting Piece 14” (Color:  DR425).

Ultra Long Hair

This style has been picking up momentum ever since its resurgence in October 2016 when Mrs. Kimberly Kardashian-West was seen rocking it during Paris Fashion Week. And if a pregnant Beyonce Knowles-Carter is donning it on the red carpet at the Grammys isn’t enough inspo for you to try it out, I don’t know what else is. It takes a certain kind of person to pull off waist length hair, but we’re sure you’ll be able to rock it this spring, before it gets too hot. Our girl, Halle, brings the slayage in our Simply Natural Straight (Color: Natural Black) + Simply Silk Lace Closure Natural Straight 12” (Color: Natural Black).

Playful, effortlessly sexy, and super easy to achieve, this look is perfect for both those bad hair days, as well as special occasions. The ease of pulling together a messy half-up topknot has obvious appeal, but if you want to switch it up, and wear it down, it’s just as easy. Andrea is seen here wearing our Simply Natural Body (Color: Natural Brown) + Simply Silk Lace Closure Natural Body 12” (Color: Natural Brown), ready to snap her next selfie.

Whether you wear wigs, weaves, braids, or your natural hair, styling up your do can always be fun and expressive, and what better time to try something new than Spring 2017.  As we like to say: “New season, new hair, who dis”?
